Tuesday’s Thoughts

Here’s a few songs I’ve been listening to.

“What A Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers, a soft rock song that has some melodic piano and unique vocals by Michael McDonald. He, along with Kenny Loggins wrote this song. The lyrics tell about a couple that meet again and decide to have a second shot at a relationship. It seems, after time, the persona realises that all along there was nothing that his partner felt towards him before nor does she now. The title of the song, “What A Fool Believes” shows that one is able to live in their own ignorance and believe in the relationship without realising that it’s not moving forward.

“Crazy” by Don Ross. This was a piece originally recorded by the American psych-soul band Gnarls Barkley. The whole idea of the song, the lyrics and the melody, Don Ross was able to instigate into the guitar and make the emotions more fuller. The fact that this is a guitar instrumental without any external percussion (which Ross was able to instead bring on the guitar), makes it amazing to awe at how it was written down. Great new-age instrumental track that brings the groove of the original piece.
